Mid Year Leadership

In 2001 the Mid-Year Leadership Conference was first held in St. Louis, MO for Chapter Presidents.  Over the past 10 years the program has evolved to include the Vice-Presidents and Treasurers along with Chapter Directors.  The reason for the inclusion of these additional officers and the Chapter Volunteer is to provide the necessary training they all need to ensure successful leadership and management at their chapters.  Undergraduate officers today have many constituents that they are responsible to: parents, universities, undergraduate members, alumni, and the executive office.  Their budgets are exceeding six figures, they have to adhere to proper risk management guidelines, prepare organizational reports, set strategic plans and objectives, maintain high academic pursuits and all this while trying to enjoy the college experience and develop into a young man.

These responsibilities can be overwhelming and frightening to an 18-21 year old, and Sigma Pi saw that many of these young men were not being properly transitioned to take on these challenges.  With this information in mind, Sigma Pi Fraternity created the Mid-Year Leadership Conference to be held after officer elections at the beginning of February of each year. The instructions these student leaders receive come from professional alumni in the fields of business, finance and education.  At the same time university officials participate to provide knowledge on how to collaborate with their administration to develop effective partnerships.
The volunteers receive top quality education on being a mentor and facilitating success with these young men.

The conference is provided at no registration expense to the officers as the Sigma Pi Educational Foundation, thanks to alumni and parent donors; provide over 46% of the funding to offset costs incurred by Sigma Pi Fraternity.  Thanks to generous past, current and future contributors, this program will continue to develop and support these young executives as they grow into A New Generation of Leaders. The impact of this program is in developing leadership skills that will ensure they have a successful and rewarding experience as officers and members of their campus and community. To join in supporting this premiereeducational program, donate today to the Mid-Year Leadership Conference Capital Preservation Fund.
